June is a month of great significance for the people of Cusco, since it was selected by the Incas to carry out the most transcendental festivity of TAHUANTINSUYO, a religious ceremony full of mysticism, color and tradition known as the “Inti Raymi” Festival or Festival. del Sol. Currently, Cusco continues to celebrate this festival every June 24. Therefore, this all-inclusive Inti Raymi Tour is designed so that you can enjoy the most important festival in Cusco, Inti Raymi.
ItineraryTo appreciate the staging of this Festival of the Sun we will start the day early, since the Inti Raymi lasts almost all day, starting around 8:00 in the morning until approximately 4:00 in the afternoon.
First we will pick you up from your hotel around 7:00 in the morning to go to the QORICANCHA Temple, you will witness the deployment of the Imperial entourage and that cosmic energy while we watch the Inca leave and welcome people from all over the world who They gather to participate in this special festival declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation of PERU. Around 8:00 a.m. The ceremony called āSalute to the Sunā begins in front of the temple of Coricancha or Golden Garden, which would be the first staging of the Inti Raymi where the Inca appears and worships the Sun God and the first rituals are performed with leaves of Coke. While there you will appreciate the entire ceremony, always with the assistance and company of the group guide, this will take approximately 1 hour.
Once the Welcome ceremony is over at the Qoricancha temple, we will walk towards the Plaza de Armas to continue with the second staging, where we will appreciate the ceremony called āMeeting of the Times and Coca Leaf Ceremonyā, where the Inca is carried along with his wife Coya and his entourage, meeting at the great Ushnu or ceremonial stage located in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, here the ceremony lasts approximately 45 minutes.
After the ceremony in the Plaza de Armas, with the assistance of our guide, we will head towards our vehicle that will take us to Sacsayhuaman, where the third staging or main ceremony of offering, thanks and requests to the āSun Godā will be staged. We will go to our reserved seats in the green tribune sector. The main ceremony lasts approximately 3 hours in which you will be able to see the representatives of the four of you worshiping the Inca and the Sun god. After the ceremony we will board our vehicle to take you to your hotel in Cusco.
