Tour Overview

This expedition or Choquequirao trek, is one of the most spectacular hikes you can do on the Andes, recently recognized the number one in to best Top Regions in Travel list 2017 by Lonely planet, as well Choquequirao contains unique stone statues of llamas, which have been bred in the Andes for five millennia, to see them is one of most wonderful shows we can have, Choquequirao sits in the saddle of a high Andean ridge, 3000 m./10,000 ft. above sea level and 1,500 m./5,000 ft. above the roaring waters of the Apurimac River. Ringed by spectacular snow-capped peaks and flanked by plunging, thickly forested slopes, the city is an inspiring example of an elite Inca ceremonial center, dedicated to the worship of the mountain gods, the river and the elements of nature, nowadays is still possible to see the spectacular king of the Andes (Condor) flying around the Choquequirao city in the afternoons or in the mornings, where you can live up your Indiana jones fantasy, It is a challenging trip but amazing experience to hike down and up to the depths of the Apurimac Canyon and then up to the site in the clouds…

Offbeat destinations demanding our attention….
